Design Details
Our team had the privilege of both screen printing and etching these intricate designs for Menagerie Cellars, capturing the delicate details that embody the beauty of each animal.
From the smooth precision of screen-printed colors to the textured depth of etched elements, every step of the process was guided by a commitment to excellence and a deep appreciation for the artistry behind these designs.
Screen Printing vs. Etching
Bergin worked closely with the designer for Menagerie Cellars to adapt their detailed wine label artwork for screen printing. The designs featured a mix of thick and thin lines and empty spaces, which required careful adjustments to print properly. We used techniques like trapping to ensure the design elements stayed true to the original artwork, resulting in clean, accurate prints that highlighted the labels’ intricate details.
To ensure the artwork met the standards for a successful etch, we carefully adjusted the designs while preserving their original essence. Key elements like linework and negative spaces were refined to maintain a minimum thickness of 1 point. Given the complexity of the graphics, some lines were removed to prevent loss of detail during the mask-making and sandblasting processes.
